Emerald Heights is a privately gated master planned community in Escondido, California. Residents enjoy resort style amenities as well as an immense amount of open space.

Emerald Heights is comprised of six different neighborhoods on 481 acres. Each has its own personality but all residents enjoy access to the Spanish Colonial style clubhouse and sports facility. Other benefits include a junior Olympic swimming pool, wading pool, spa, a basketball court, and three tennis courts. There is also a tot lot that offers 2,400 square feet of recreation and many walking trails. Residents enjoy views of Discovery Valley and the city.

Although Emerald Heights is in Escondido, this community is served by the San Marcos Unified School District. Students attend Richland Elementary School as well as highly ranked Woodland Park Middle School and Mission Hills High School. Many families choose private schooling with several schools to choose from like Calvin Christian Elementary, Ascension Lutheran, St. Mary’s School, and Summerhill School. There are many higher learning facilities nearby such as Westminster Seminary California and California Pacific University.

Residents can choose from many restaurants and stores in San Marcos with venues like the Nardahl Marketplace. And there are many places in Escondido like Westfield North County, Escondido Village Mall Shopping Center, and Escondido Promenade. This city’s downtown region has been busier in the last few years as several art galleries, cafes, and restaurants have opened.

Emerald Heights is close to the Twin Oaks Golf Course which offers 18 holes as well as a practice green and clubhouse. This city has 15 parks and freeway access will take you to the beaches of Southern California.

Escondido is one of San Diego County’s oldest cities and was incorporated in 1888. Its name means “hidden” in Spanish and is thought to refer to “hidden water” or “hidden treasure.”
